The second line on ‘Arch Bridge’ to reduce the traffic between Chennai and Kolkata is yet to start, even South Central Railway (SCR) had agreed in this regard way back. Space is left for the second track.

In  2015, the then SCR BZA divisional manager Ashok Kumar said that laying of second track will be taken up shortly. But so far, no progress.

SCR is using road-cum-rail bridge for the trains going towards Vijayawada and including goods trains. Arch bridge is used for the trains, including goods trains, moving towards Visakhapatnam. But, they are allowing passengers on both sides from the arch bridge.

The bridge is having 28 spans with a distance of 16 metres between them. The present track was laid in a width of 8 metre and 8 metre space was left for laying second track.

Presently, about 150 express, passenger and goods trains are moving from the city every day, excluding weekly express trains. It is not yet clear when the works relating to second track will begin.

IndiGo Staff Manhandles Flyer at Delhi’s IGI, Leads to Scuffle on Tarmac. http://ourrajahmundry.com/indigo-staff-manhandles-flyer-at-delhis-igi-leads-to-scuffle-on-tarmac/ http://ourrajahmundry.com/indigo-staff-manhandles-flyer-at-delhis-igi-leads-to-scuffle-on-tarmac/#respond Wed, 08 Nov 2017 04:50:58 +0000 http://ourrajahmundry.com/?p=3621 NEW DELHI: In a shocker, IndiGo ground staff manhandled and dragged a passenger at Delhi Airport on October 15 after a tiff. An airline employee who acted as a whistleblower, tried to intervene and shot a video of this violence and was sacked by the airline.

This drama unfolded on October 15 when 6E 487 flew into Delhi from Chennai. After alighting from the Airbus A-320, a passenger Rajiv Katiyal got into an argument with some ground staffers over some issue and he allegedly abused them. What sparked this argument has not been ascertained yet.
Two to three IndiGo ground staffers stopped Katyal from boarding the bus which was taking passengers to the terminal. They then manhandled him and dragged him on the tarmac for over a minute. An IndiGo employee, Montu Kalra, who was at the site tried to intervene and shot a video of his colleagues manhandling the passenger.

Instead of acting against the employees who thrashed passenger Katiyal, IndiGo sacked Kalra whose wife is pregnant and who needs the job desperately for his growing family.

On Tuesday when Kalra’s video became public and was aired by Times Group’s Times Now, Aviation minister Jayant spoke to IndiGo founder Rahul Bhatia and sought a detailed report on this issue. He said once the passenger lodges a criminal complaint (FIR) against the IndiGo employees who beat him up, they will lose their security clearance for airport passes and not be able to go there for their job. Effectively, the guilty employees of IndiGo will not be able to work in the aviation industry, Sinha said.

Sanjay Bhatia, IGI Airport DCP, confirmed receiving a PCR call regarding the tiff between the passenger and IndiGo employees on October 15. “Passenger Rajeev Katiyal, who had flown in from Chennai, was waiting for coach bus. There was altercation between IndiGo staffer Jubi Thomas and the passenger due to a misunderstanding. The matter was amicably sorted out and call was filed.”
IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said in a statement: “I acknowledge the unpleasant experience our passenger went through, while engaging with our staff at Delhi airport. My personal apologies as this does not reflect our culture. I had personally spoken to the passenger and asked for an apology. At IndiGo, dignity of our passengers and staff is of utmost importance. Any act that compromises the dignity of either is of a serious concern to us. Under the code of conduct violation, this incident was investigated and stern action was taken against the staff. Once again my personal and sincere apologies to the affected passenger.”
The airline later added to this statement, saying: “Treating our customers with respect is core to what we do. Every day we take tens of thousands of happy customers to where they need to get to. It is for this reason that customers choose IndiGo more number of times than any other airline in the country. An incident happened in Delhi airport which is entirely the opposite of this and against what we stand for at IndiGo. The video of this incident came to our attention and we took action. Even while the investigation was going on we immediately suspended the involved employees. I personally spoke to the customer and apologised to him the very same day. Whatever may have been the provocation, our staff were completely out of line and didn’t follow laid down procedures…. Under the code of conduct violation, this incident was investigated by the designated committee and stern action was taken against the staff who was he main culprit by immediately terminating his employment. He was the one found instigating and aggravating the situation. He is the exact opposite of what IndiGo’s customer service aims to be.”

More theaters putting a check on black tickets http://ourrajahmundry.com/more-theaters-putting-a-check-on-black-tickets/ http://ourrajahmundry.com/more-theaters-putting-a-check-on-black-tickets/#respond Wed, 25 Oct 2017 04:30:47 +0000 http://ourrajahmundry.com/?p=3611

Rajahmundry: As the popular films are being released for screening in a large number of theatres at the same time, there is a check on the sale of tickets in the black market at a high price in the state.

Of late, the film distributors have come up with a new idea to release the films which are riding on high expectations to hit the box office in almost all theatres in a city or town.

This film will run for a week and based on the response from the public, the number of theatres screening the film will come down. This move is ensuring that those who want to see the film during the initial days of its release get tickets in any theatre as almost all theatres in the city or town are screening the same film.

However, the trouble comes from a section of the film buffs who want to see the film of their favourite actor on the ‘first day  first show’ in the choicest film theatre as they purchase tickets in the black market by paying more money.

For instance, police nabbed three men for selling tickets of the film Spyder starring Mahesh Babu in ‘black’ at high prices at Anushri theatre in Rajahmundry on September 27 and seized 37 tickets and cash of Rs 1,720 from them.

Film industry sources say that gone are those days when the film buffs used to fight for movie tickets, as current films are being released in almost all theatres at the same time in a town or city in the state.

Government approves Rs 1,423-crore road project in Andhra Pradesh http://ourrajahmundry.com/government-approves-rs-1423-crore-road-project-in-andhra-pradesh/ http://ourrajahmundry.com/government-approves-rs-1423-crore-road-project-in-andhra-pradesh/#respond Wed, 13 Sep 2017 17:43:15 +0000 http://ourrajahmundry.com/?p=3597

NEW DELHI: A Rs 1,423-crore highway project in Andhra Pradesh, part of the high density Kolkata-Chennai traffic corridor, received Cabinet greenlight today.

“The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for development of six-laning of Narasannapeta-Ranastalam section of National Highway (NH)-16 (old NH-5) in Andhra Pradesh,” an official statement said.

The cost of the 54-km project, to be executed under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) phase V, has been estimated at Rs 1,423 crore, including cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation, besides other pre-construction activities.

The job will be done in hybrid annuity mode.

“The major industrial development centres that will be benefited with better connectivity from the project corridor are APIIC SEZ, Pydibhimavaram, Bhogapuram Airport, Vizag Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam Port, Gangavaram Port,  Divi’s LaboratoriesBSE 3.03 % Limited and INS Varsha,” the statement read.

It further said the projected traffic in 2016-17 on this stretch was about 33,000 PCUs (passenger car units) per day.
The project is part of the high-density Kolkata-Cuttack- Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Chennai traffic corridor and is expected to cut down travel time.

The statement said the provision for two bypasses in the project will ensure decongestion of urban areas of Etcherla and Ranastalam. Similarly, the 29 flyovers and vehicular underpasses would facilitate fast movement of traffic while decongesting the areas.

“Three truck parkings will facilitate smooth movement of freight traffic. The truck drivers would also benefit from the amenities with one rest area being developed,” the statement said.

It added that on both sides, provision of service roads on the 37 km of the project stretch, slip roads in about 43 km and bus bays at 42 locations will lead to safe, comfortable and smooth movement of long-distance commercial as well as local traffic in inhabited areas.

The project is expected to increase employment potential for local labourers.

The government has estimated that a total 4,076 mandays are required for construction of one kilometre of highway.

“As such, employment potential of 2,21,000 (approximately) mandays will be generated locally during the construction period of this stretch. Consequent self- employment due to improved traffic conditions would be in addition,” the statement said.

MCR to collect fee for immersion of Ganesh idols in Rajahmundry http://ourrajahmundry.com/mcr-to-collect-fee-for-immersion-of-ganesh-idols-in-rajahmundry/ http://ourrajahmundry.com/mcr-to-collect-fee-for-immersion-of-ganesh-idols-in-rajahmundry/#respond Tue, 29 Aug 2017 05:59:50 +0000 http://ourrajahmundry.com/?p=3584

In order to discourage the immersion of Ganesh idols made of plaster of Paris (PoP) in the Godavari River, the civic authorities plan to collect between Rs 1,000 and Rs 10,000 in the form of fees from individuals and organisers.

Rs 1,000 will be collected for idols less than five feet in height, Rs 2,000 for idols less than seven feet, Rs 3,000 for idol less than nine feet, Rs 7,500 for idols less than 12 feet, and Rs10,000 for idols over 12 feet in height.

Municipal Commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju on Monday said that they were trying to persuade the organisers of Ganesh festivities in the city not to install, worship and immerse idols made of PoP and other chemicals which would cause pollution.

The Commissioner appreciated the organisers and individuals who had installed idols made of clay and those who had opted for smaller, more eco-friendly idols which were less likely to pollute the river.

The civic authorities are preparing to visit the Ganesh pandals erected in the city to collect fees from organisers using idols made of PoP and other chemicals. They had previously issued a set of guidelines to the organisers with regard to the installation of idols. They had said that idols were not to be installed in public places which would cause inconvenience to local residents and motorists.

A Trip To Mahur – The 8th Shakthipeetha,Powerful Ekaveeradevi! http://ourrajahmundry.com/witnessing-the-powerful-ekaveeradevi-a-trip-to-mahur/ http://ourrajahmundry.com/witnessing-the-powerful-ekaveeradevi-a-trip-to-mahur/#comments Fri, 26 May 2017 18:57:59 +0000 http://ourrajahmundry.com/?p=3537

Mahur is the most awaiting trip for my husband since two years. Mahur is famous for the 8th Shakti Peetham known as Ekaveera Devi Peetham. Ekaveera Devi is one of the 18 Shakti Peethas where the right arm fell here. My husband’s wish is to show all the 18 Shakti Peethas to his parents till now my in-laws have covered 7 to 9 Shakti Peethas and this is 4th for  me.  As a my in laws came from Rajahmundry for summer vacation to Hyderabad,we panned to visit Mahur.

Now how to reach Mahur from Secunderabad???? What are the places that we have to visit in Mahur???

Mahur or Mahurgad is a town and a religious place in Nanded district, Maharashtra, India. We started from Secunderabad. The only train to reach Mahur from Secunderabad is Krishna express. We boarded the train around 9:30pm on Friday night from Secunderabad station. Next morning we got down at Kinwat station around 5:50 am. The only facility to reach Mahur is by bus which is 50km from Kinwat. So we went to Kinwat Bus stand by auto with a charge of 10 rupees per person. It is around 6:05am. The buses are coming one by one. The bus stand is full of passengers. Our mahur bus came which goes to Nagpur from then. The people are rushing towards the bus, then my husband ran and thrown his hankie on one of the seats in the bus from the bus window. At last all of us got into the bus. Somehow we four were adjusted in seats. The bus ticket from Kinwat to Mahur is 51 rupees. The bus journey is through thick forest with very few halts. We reached Mahur around 7:20am. Mahur is a small town. We reached Hotel Krishna Palace, where we reserved a room via web. It is around 1km from Mahur bus stand.  We checked into the Hotel which is very clean and neat inside. We are very much satisfied with the facilities in the room. We hurried up and got fresh. Then we went to nearby Udipi Restaurant for breakfast around 9:10am. After breakfast my husband and my father-in-law called an Autowala to EKAVEERA DEVI Temple. He asked around Rupees 500 to cover all the temples which are situated in and around Mahur town. Then our most awaiting journey started  towards  the 8th Shakti Peetham by 9:30am.

Ekaveera Shakti Peetham is situated in a small village called HEURE. The distance between the Heure and Mahur village is around 5 to 8 KMS.  It is bright, sunny day. On the way we saw a board on which we noticed telugu words 8వ శక్తి పీఠం శ్రీ ఏకవీర మందిరం.

Though this place was not in Andhra or Telangana but it was written in Telugu than any other language. Then we went to the Peetham. Here another surprising thing is we could hardly see 3-5 persons in the temple. There we saw the board with the details of Pujas performed like for Harathi 50rs, Pooja 100rs,Abhishekam 500rs. All the above details were written in telugu.

Mostly telugu people visits this temple. We have taken ticket for pooja & Harati. We performed harathi on our own because we did  not see any priest there,we felt that one should be very lucky to do this and we were very happy,we offered saree and bangles to the diety, the idol of Ekaveera Devi is looking very powerful.

The Temple is not like a Shakti peetham it is looking like very simple. Then we took some photographs in the temple and we left the temple around 10:30am.

This was the temple of the 8th Shakti Peetham Ekaveera Devi.

In the same auto we came back to Mahur. Then we went to Mahurgad. It is being over a hill. In that hill 4 famous Temples are situated known as

  1. Atri and Anasuya Temple
  2. Jagadguru Dattatreya Swamy Temple
  3. Renuka Mata Temple
  4. Parasuram Temple

First we went Atri and Anasuya Temple. It takes 15 to 25 min to reach that temple. Half of the way is very comfortable but another half is under construction so it is very bumpy. It is quite uncomfortable. Then we reached the Atri and Anasuya Temple. Here the very critical task comes that we should climb more than 150 steps in the hot sunny day.  My father in law and myself climbed very easily, but my husband and my mother-in-law found it difficult to make it all the way. Here we can notice that the temple is full of monkeys, they are loking for some food from us,then first we went to Atri temple and then to Anasuya temple. It’s a typical hot sunny day, so our feet are burning like anything. There we got a fine Dharshan of two goddesses then we came down by the same steps.

Then we went to Jagadguru Dattatreya Swamy Temple. Mahur is known be the birth place of lord Dattatreya. In this temple we saw monkeys performing Pooja to Shiva lingams  and a dog performing Pooja to Lord Kala Bhairava. We were surprised.

Monkeys performing pooja at Shiva Lingam

Bhairava  performing  pooja at Kala Bhairava Temple

This was the Temple of Jagadguru Dattatreya Swamy.

Then we came to Renuka Mata temple. There we came know to that people worship Renuka Mata than Ekavera Devi. For the people of Maharastra Renuka Mata Temple is shakti Peetham to them. Here there is a story behind this temple. Mahur has a sacred temple to Renuka Mata, which is considered one of the three and half Shakti Peethas  in the state. A big fair is held here every year on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

When Sahasrarjun attacked Renuka Devi, while somewhere in today’s Telangana, for he wanted to grab the Sacred Kamdhenu cow . When Renuka Mata refused to him that saying as king gift of your own choice by the guest visitor is uncalled. He attacked her & injured her. She dies in this & when Lord Parshuram knew about it, he went berserk. Then the elderly people pacified him & asked him to do the last rites in Mahur under Dattatreya’s guidance. Then he was told by him that Renuka Mata will appear on first mountain for you to worship. This became the famous Renuka Mata temple. The “Matru Tirth” (means sacred place for Mother’s worship) Place on this Mountain is the one which is where today stands a lake, is “Antyeshti Sthan” (Means place where last rites were performed).

It is a typical Marati Temple. Here another very critical task comes that we should climb more than 200 steps. We slowly climbed the mountain. we had a fine Dharshan of  Renuka Mata. Some people are performing pooja infront of Mata. Here the Prasadam is pan. Then we climbed down more than 150 steps to Lord Parasuram temple which is situated down  the hill of Renuka Mata.  While coming down my mother-in-law and myself had some lemon juice. The water used in the preparation of  juice is not good, so it is advisable not to drink the lemon juice. We came down  around 2:10pm. We thought of going back to the hotel for lunch and take  rest. But our Autowala said there was another temple down near by and we can visit that temple also. We said ok and went. It is a temple called Dattatreya’s Nidrasthan. We went there & came to hotel Krishna Palace for lunch around 2:30pm.

The Autowala is such a nice person he covered all the temples in Mahur very politely & patiently. Though he is Muslim he had shown all temples to us. His name is Khaja 50 years old and had a great dedication towards his profession. We were very much impressed with the way he has shown all the places to us.My husband gave extra 50 rupees to him, but he refused to take. My husband took his phone number and he left. We sat and ordered food then, my father-in-law came to know that he had forgotten his glasses in the last temple. Then my husband made a phone call to Autowala. Within 5mins he came my father-in-law went with him for glasses he got them and came back.  My father -in-law tried to give money for him, but he refused to take. Pls opt him if you are in Mahur, his number – 7350690716

Here we only get Marati food. We ordered North Tali of 100 rupees which is worth. We went to hotel room and took rest for 2hrs.  Then we got fresh checked out the room. The hotel room is quite satisfactory to us.

It is around 5:40 pm my in-laws had some tea. My husband and myself went to eat some Pani Puri. The Pani Puri is not good so don’t eat that in Mahur, then I had badam milk(ok ok),then we got into the auto to reach Mahur bus stand. We reach there we get into the bus after getting into the bus we got to know that it was the last before bus to reach Kinwat. We thought we were lucky. The bus started at around 6:30 pm. We reached Kinwat around 7:30 pm. There we ate food at hotel poornima at Jija Mata Chowk .The food here is good. Then we reached Kinwat station by auto. The Platform is in very bad condition without any facilities and full of garbage but upper class waiting room is ok . Train (Krishna express) came around 9:20pm we got to into train. Next day morning we  reached Secunderabad around 6:00am.

At last I conclude that we 4 people successfully completed Mahur trip within 1 day. We reached safely and took half day rest to get rid of body pains. And next we are going to another Shakti Peetham which is situated in Maharashtra  itself  that is KOLAHAPUR on June 1st. 😀😃
